COVID-19 Precautions and Social Distancing
We have always taken cleanliness and hygiene seriously at Massage Hut, including using fresh towels for each client, thorough handwashing by therapists after every client, daily mopping of all flooring with disinfectant, and regular cleaning of other surfaces. We have now added the following additional measures:
Client instructions
IMPORTANT – If you have had any cold or flu symptoms within the last 14 days, please reschedule your appointment. If you are unsure, please contact us before your appointment.
-
When you arrive for your massage treatment, please wait outside the clinic until your therapist comes to fetch you. Do not enter the reception area until invited.
-
After greeting you, your therapist will take you directly to the therapy room.
-
We kindly ask that you try not to touch anything more than necessary during your visit.
-
After your massage treatment, your therapist will check that the reception area is empty before inviting you to the front counter for payment.
-
Please exit the clinic immediately after paying so that other clients are not delayed. If you and your therapist have more to talk about after completing payment, the therapist will exit the clinic with you to finish the conversation outside.
Other measures to help keep our clients and therapists safe
Cleaning and disinfecting – After EVERY client, we spray and wipe surfaces with hospital-strength 70% ethanol, including the headrest and armrest, door handles, clothing containers and coat hangers, EFTPOS keypad and front counter.
We use clean towels for EVERY client. As per Health Department advice, our towels are washed in hot water with laundry detergent and dried in a clothes dryer on the hottest setting. The new coronavirus, like the flu virus, is surrounded by a fatty membrane that is vulnerable to detergent and to heat.
Face masks – Our therapists are all currently well, but as an extra precaution to help protect clients and themselves, they will be wearing surgical masks when treating clients.
Disposable cups – We are now offering filtered water and tea to clients in compostable single-use cups.
Our therapists will do their best to support these measures and are keeping up to date with recommendations for containing the virus. Our therapists will not be attending the clinic if they are unwell.
Your help with supporting these measures during this time is greatly appreciated. For more information about the COVID-19 virus, please see the Queensland Health and Australian Health Department websites.
